It all started in Stuttgart in 1912 when Karl Meissner and Paul Wurst founded the company, filling their first patent for a wood chip extractor. The company first operated under the founders’ names as Meissner und Wurst, later as M+W, and since 2018 as Exyte. Today it is a global market leader in the planning, development and delivery of high-tech facilities in the semiconductor, battery, biopharma and life sciences, and data center businesses.

In the second half of 2023, Exyte strengthened its Technology & Services business area by acquiring the Munich-based company Intega GmbH with around 300 employees. The vertical integration of Intega helps Exyte to expand its expertise of critical subsystems for high-tech systems, particularly in the semiconductor industry.
