"Digitization gets medicines to patients faster"
Antonello Finucci is a man on a mission - a mission to use digital technology to make the pharmaceutical industry better and faster.
As a Subject Matter Expert and the Director of Process Digitization at Exyte, Antonello helps clients use technology to solve real-world problems, save money, and bring life-saving medicines to the market faster.
In many areas of life and work, digitization ensures faster and more efficient processes. Antonello Finucci, Exyte's Director for Process Digitization, is working on new digital processes, like automation and artificial intelligence, for clients. These will become more and more important to the biopharma and life sciences sector and ultimately help to develop and produce medical products faster.
"By helping our clients with technology, they can bring drugs to market faster. This is really something rewarding that I do at Exyte," says Finucci .
Originally working in aeronautical engineering, Finucci has been with Exyte for just over a year. "My personal wish was to be one of the drivers of digitization in the pharmaceutical industry and thus ensure that new products come to market faster, from which many people benefit."
Digital twins for pharma facilities
It's not just about saving lives - it's also about creating efficient and economic building practices. Costs and prices play an important role in healthcare. One of the ways that Finucci is doing this is by creating systems, like digital twins, that can improve production while simultaneously reducing production costs.
A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical building or infrastructure asset. It is created by collecting data from things like sensors and BIM software to create a detailed model of the asset and its behavior. These digital twins map the processes and the facilities in great detail. They make it possible to virtually test which processes in a biopharmaceutical facility need to be improved or changed in order to speed them up and simplify them. This helps to create efficient processes that not only reduce costs but also the risk of errors, and environmental impacts as well as increase safety.
18 years of experience
As a Global Subject Matter Expert, Finucci is the first point of contact for customers and together they discuss which technical innovations are available that could be applied to their facilities. They benefit from Finucci's 18 years of experience in the field of digitization.
As a person who seeks new challenges every day, Finucci takes great pleasure in working at Exyte. "I have excellent colleagues here with whom I work on new solutions every day. I am happy that I can support them with my knowledge and my work."
