Leading the way with advanced design and technology
Exyte's vision is to create a better future by delivering high-tech facilities to its clients, so that they can provide innovative products and services that enhance the quality of modern life.
High-tech facilities require a special kind of skillset, like that of Stefan Kappeler, the Senior Director of Biopharma and Regulatory-Technology, and a Subject Matter Expert, who applies all his knowledge to the construction of new pharmaceutical facilities.
In the life sciences industry, maintaining strict, high-quality standards, and consistency is critical. Companies must invest in state-of-the-art facilities so they can not only create but improve the quality of their products.
Stefan Kappeler is an expert in pharmaceutical facility design. His background in biochemistry led him to work in the planning of new drug production facilities. His work touches every aspect of the production process and is critical to enabling innovative and efficient manufacturing processes.
"My job is to ensure that our clients' facilities are built with the most advanced technology and regulatory requirements in mind,” Kappeler explains. “This includes researching and implementing the latest technology and best practices, while also making sure the facility is a safe place to work for employees.”
Innovation is vital
With more than 30 years of experience, Kappeler knows that the industry is constantly exploring new and innovative ideas. He believes Exyte can lead the way in innovation, cutting edge technologies, and environmentally responsible practice, which are becoming increasingly important to consumers and clients. At Exyte, Kappeler sees innovation every day with a team of highly skilled professionals who share his passion for collaboration and excellence. An example of this can be seen in a current project Kappeler is working on. "In the project's early stages, we identified several design optimizations that could be implemented quickly and efficiently. The changes we proposed ended up reducing the facility's energy requirements by more than 20 percent," he says.
Building up new experts is one of his goals
For Kappeler, the most rewarding part of his job is being able to meaningfully contribute to other people's lives. The facilities he designs allow for more efficient production of drugs and other life-changing treatments.
Kappeler's ultimate goal? "I want to preserve Exyte’s leading position in the planning and realization of pharmaceutical facilities," he says. But he is also keen to promote capable students and young talents.
